Driving Change: Africa's Future is Electric

As the global electric vehicle (EV) industry gears up for a transformative year in 2025, Africa stands at the forefront of this revolution. Only a decade ago, 130,000 electric cars were sold worldwide in a year; today, that number is achieved in a mere week, with an estimated 16 million EVs currently navigating the world’s roads. In support of this evolution in Africa, the EV Forum emerges as a pivotal one-day conference.

This one day conference invites business leaders, key industry players, and enthusiasts from the realms of electric vehicles, energy, information technology, and charging infrastructure to delve into the future of e-mobility. This dynamic event serves as a platform for exploring EV trends and exchanging trailblazing views and discussions.

Engage with officials, policymakers, market leaders, and industry visionaries as they tackle pertinent topics such as battery technologies, energy storage solutions, and the development of charging infrastructure. Join us for senior-level executive insights, unparalleled networking opportunities, and knowledge sharing that will unravel multiple facets of the EV ecosystem.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of Africa’s electric future at the EV Forum – where innovation, collaboration, and sustainable mobility converge!

EV Forum Partners

South African National Energy Development Institute

The South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI) was established in 2011 under the National Energy Act, 2008 (Act No. 34 of 2008). The Act provides for SANEDI to direct, monitor and conduct energy research and development, promote energy research and technology innovation as well as undertake measures to promote energy efficiency throughout the economy.

SANEDI’s focus is mainly developing innovative, integrated clean energy and resource efficient solutions that aim to catalyse growth and prosperity. As technologies develop and mature, opportunities for innovative energy solutions that can make a meaningful contribution are becoming increasingly relevant for improving energy access and lowering the country’s carbon footprint.

SANEDI operates in a global context shaped by several megatrends including climate change, urbanisation, demographic shifts, Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and growing inequalities. We have shaped programmes of action and have adopted three themes to strengthen and drive our mandate. The themes are: Climate Change and Decarbonisation, Service Delivery within the Municipal Environment, and Information Knowledge (Data and Knowledge Management) and Technological Convergence.
